Its founding members are Blue Fountain Systems, Netsight, Zope Europe, Jamkit, GetFrank, ICP & Fry-It. The main aims are:-

• To promote open source in general and Zope, Plone and Python technologies in particular.
• To be a central representative body to put the views of Zope/Plone and Python companies to Government departments, relevant agencies and other key organizations.
• To be a technical centre providing commentary, guidance and advice on all legal and regulatory developments of relevance to Zope/Plone and Python service companies.
• To provide a forum for the exchange of noncompetitive information.
